The sense of being cured when one is sick brings a lot of hope. Imagine one is suffering from a terminal sickness. All possible medications have been exhausted to no avail. Suddenly, miraculously he is cured. Such a development calls for a joyful celebration. The miracles performed by Jesus in the gospel reading (Mark 5:21-43) reveal that God cares for His suffering people. They also manifest Jesus' power to save. He can not only restore our physical health but also spiritual health. There is need for dynamic faith and trust in Him. (2012 Bible Diary)
